Unusual Sundays

 

Más que inusuales, estos domingos se están convirtiendo en habituales. Pensemos que cada día que pasa es un día menos. Y esperemos que vuelvan la inspiración y los planes divertidos en breve.
Cosas que he aprendido esta semana:
1.- En algunos puedes confiar más que en ti. No me ha sorpendido y reconforta.
2.- No hay que empeñarse en lo que no tiene remedio. Sigo tropezando en la misma piedra. Duele.
Y en lo fotográfico, estoy redescubriendo la luz y cómo cambia la escena según su dirección, calidad y temperatura.
No está mal.

These are not unusual Sundays but usual ones, I’m afraid. But let’s be positive: each day is one day less to be at home. And then, inspiration and outdoor activities will come back for sure.
This week I’ve learnt a couple of things. The first of  them is that there are some people I can absolutely trust in. That´s wonderful. The second one is that I make the same mistake once and again. And it hurts.
Photographically speaking, I feel more and more comfortable about using temperature, quality and direction of light to make scenes seem different.
Not bad at all.

Unusual Sunday

El de hoy es, sin lugar a dudas, un domingo poco habitual. Pero no uno de esos domingos divertidos, de descubrimientos y risas. Más bien al contrario. Sombrío y desesperante como ya no recordaba. Uno de esos días en los que no encuentras inspiración en nada y, para creértelo, repites una y otra vez: “Mañana va a ser mejor. Seguro”.

It’s an unusual Sunday today, for sure. But not a shiny one. On the contrary. It’s a long, dark, desperating one. The kind of days I’d almost forgotten. For that reason, I’m not able to find inspiration anywhere. And I compel myself to think that tomorrow will be better. Otherwise, I couldn´t go ahead.

Unusual Sundays

All the brown horses in the world are named “chocolate”. So today, we´ve gone to see many “chocolates” at horse racings.  We have enjoyed the almost sunny day, the emotion of the races, the environment and many activities for children.

Hay algo indiscutible para nosotros: todos los caballos marrones del mundo se llaman “chocolate”. Y hoy hemos ido a ver a un montón de “chocolates” en las carreras de caballos. En el hipódromo hemos disfrutado del buen tiempo, de la emoción de las carreras, del increíble ambiente y de un montón de actividades para niños.

I couldn´t help thinking in all these photographies and porfolios:

-  These wild horses running free in a cold landscape.
- Or these other ones photographed at the studio.
- The impressive “rapa das bestas”, full of intensity, emotion and strenght.

Unusual Sundays

Well, this is not an unusual Sunday, actually. But we´ve had some days off last week and I´m willing to show you some of my pics then.

We all went to Parque Warner. It is a huge funfair with lots of options for children (and adults). The day was quite a bit rainy but we spent an amazing time. Bugs Bunny and Tweety were really friendly and the most popular attractions were not crowded. I will just say this: carousel – 10 times.

De hecho, hoy no es un “Domingo poco Corriente”. Pero la semana pasada tuvimos unos días de fiesta así que toda la tropa pasamos un “Martes poco Corriente”. Y estoy deseando enseñaros unas cuantas fotos de nuestra visita al Parque Warner. 

Se trata de un enorme parque de atracciones con un montón de opciones para niños… y mayores. Salió un día un poco lluvioso pero lo pasamos en grande. Bugs Bunny y Piolín fueron súper amistosos y no había cola en las atracciones más concurridas. Sólo diré esto: 1o vueltas en el tiovivo. Ahí queda eso.

Hay miles de inquietantes fotografías de parques temáticos abandonados por todo el mundo. He elegido éstas:

- Todavía pueden oirse las risas y aplausos entre las ruinas olvidadas. Escalofriante. (video).
- Me encanta el aspecto vintage de algunas de estas fotos.
- La decadencia de Jazzland, un parque de atracciones abandonado de Nueva Orleans, después del Katrina, se presenta como una pesadilla visual.
- Afterlife es la dramática visión de uno de estos parques por la noche. 
- Y unas cuantas imágenes más sobre el tema. Quizá no son tan bonitas pero son igual de inquietantes.

Easter holidays have finished. Time to come back to our lives. We spent our day on the road yesterday and now we´re preparing our weekly routine. There´s no time for more today. But here you´ll find some impressions of my Semana Santa.

Unusual Sundays

Some Sundays, we love walking around Faunia. Charly has soaked us today and a tiny monkey put his hand into my brother-in-law´s pocket and scaped with a kleenex. Thank God, the petty thief hasn’t taken his car’s keys or the smartphone! But it has been hilarious!
Faunia is a small zoo with quite different ecosystems where the children can even interact with animals. I don´t like these kind of places especially. I must confess that I hate rodents, I´m scared of reptiles and birds make me nervous. But I always enjoy the outdoor day, the kids excitement and the faces of horror in some adults, jeje, including myself.

You are not probably at home today. Maybe some of you have visited a zoo this weekend as well. Maybe not. But I´m sure you´ll like this pictures in which animals are the main character:

Unusual Sundays

Good weather let us spend Sundays out. Some weekends we change our home sweet home mood for outdoor plans. That means that I must speed homework up -what it´s kinda stressing- but I love to do different things with my family… and find locations for new pictures, of course!

It was our first time at American Football last Sunday. And we´ll come back for sure! Intense sport, extraordinary environment, best company, awesome day. We behaved as devoted supporters and locals won. Perfect. These are some of my impressions.

Well, I believe it would be better if I learn the basic rules. This way I wouldn´t have the impression that all the players are simply crashing and running from side to side, je. My sister told me there is a good book to learn everything about American Football. I´ll let you know.
